13 Aug Kettering Firm Launches Appeal for New Recruits
A KETTERING firm is urging local graduates and school leavers who are looking for a new career to get in touch.
Despite many firms laying off staff due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Telford Mann Pensions & Investments, based in Ironstone Place, is actively looking to recruit individuals who are interested in a role in financial services.
Jilly Mann, joint Managing Director of Telford Mann, said: “The jobs market is extremely tough out there right now and opportunities are thin on the ground for anyone looking to pursue their career.
“We are looking for graduates and school leavers who are seeking a long-term career in financial services and we will support them with training and development costs.
“We want to recruit locally and provide opportunities to bright candidates who have perhaps had their career plans thrown into disarray by the coronavirus and so we would urge people to put themselves forward.
“It may well be a career they had never thought of pursuing, but most of our best people found this industry by chance and have forged extremely successful careers for themselves.”
The company, which moved into new custom-built offices last year, invests an average of £10,000 on every trainee who progresses to Chartered Financial Planner status.
“We have successfully navigated the pandemic and as the country gradually returns to normality, we want to strengthen our position moving forward with hungry new recruits,” continued Jilly.
A recruitment drive launched earlier this year saw five trainee paraplanners and advisers join the Telford Mann team. They mostly consisted of graduates and school leavers who were entering the financial services industry for the first time.
Jilly added: “We want to hear from candidates who are local to our Kettering base and would like to find out more about the trainee roles we currently have.”
As an example of successful career progression at Telford Mann, two Chartered Financial Planners have recently celebrated their 10th year anniversary at the firm.
Paul Dawes and Kieron Brace have been with the firm since 2010 and have been part of its successful expansion ever since.
Jon Telford, joint Managing Director, said: “Both Kieron and Paul have been key figures within the team over the last ten years.
“They have both built some fantastic relationships with our clients and it is testament to the service they provide that they receive so many referrals from existing clients time and again.
“Not only that, but they are both pivotal to the future development of the trainee advisers we have coming through the ranks and are only too happy to pass on their knowledge to the next generation.”
