10 Dec Kettering Town Centre set to change
Kettering’s cultural-led regeneration plans are set to rejuvenate the town centre over the next four years, creating a vibrant, welcoming place for the community to enjoy for years to come.
This year, Kettering Borough Council has secured investment worth over £8m to deliver key cultural capital projects which will act as the catalyst for this change. The latest updates include:
HSHAZ – Survey launched – Have your say!
The existing Kettering High Street Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ) project, worth over £4m, which secured funding from Historic England, is set to breathe new life into the historical buildings on the high street that are rich in heritage.
A new consultation has now launched to help shape design plans for public spaces within the town centre. To have your say and take the survey, visit: www.thisiskettering.com/hshaz-survey
New signage installation
From 7th December a new wayfinding system, displaying maps and key features will start appearing in the town centre. This project is working very closely with the HSHAZ project and therefore the new signage will have a heritage look and feel.
Each sign will give members of the public a whole range of useful information to help them navigate around the Town Centre. In addition, existing directional signage will be refurbished.
Rochelle Mathieson, Head of Commercial Development at Kettering Borough Council, said:
