06 Aug Kettering Wellbeing Centre Reopens after Lockdown Measures are Eased
A KETTERING wellbeing centre which has offered free online classes to local people during lockdown has reopened its doors to the public after restrictions were eased.
The Ironstone Wellbeing Centre, based in Ironstone Place, was forced to close its doors earlier this year when the country went into lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
But after the Government gave the all clear for gyms and health facilities to reopen on July 25, the centre threw open its doors on Monday (August 3) for the first time in nearly five months.
As per Government guidelines, reduced class sizes, a one-way system and extra cleaning protocols have been put in place to ensure the utmost health and safety of the customers.
Harry Hewetson, Studio Director at the Ironstone Wellbeing Centre, said: “We’re thrilled to be reopening to the public now that the lockdown restrictions are finally being relaxed.
“For those of you who may not have heard of us, we are situated on the outskirts of Kettering, just behind the Holiday Inn, and are Northamptonshire’s first purpose-built Wellbeing Centre.
“We offer a welcoming and relaxing space where you can take time out for your wellbeing. We’re proud to offer a diverse range of classes from Hot Yoga and Pilates to Hatha Yoga, Meditation and Mindfulness, FitSteps and much more. “
Over the past few months, the centre has offered a wide selection of free online classes to local people via Facebook as part of its role as a “community hub”.
NHS staff and other key workers have been encouraged to take advantage of the classes to enable them to stay fit and healthy during lockdown.
To mark the reopening, the centre is offering 30 days of unlimited classes for just £30 to both existing and new members.
Harry continued: “We very much see ourselves as a community hub and wanted to do something to support the health and wellbeing of the people around us during these extremely difficult times.
“We’ve got three beautiful studios, one of which is fitted with state-of-the-art infra-red heat panels for our hot classes, and therapy rooms where you can relax and unwind with a massage or book a consultation with our in-house chiropractor or nutritional therapist.”
“We also offer conference facilities on site for anyone looking to hire a meeting room, training facility or event space.”
With more than a dozen different types of class on offer over a schedule of 45 classes per week, running from as early as 6.30am to as late as 9pm, the centre hopes that everyone can find something that suits them at a time that fits in with their lives.
